This feature enables users to group ingredients together within a recipe. The feature is flexible, allowing users to maintain the names of their Ingredient Blocks as they see fit.
Here are a few examples of Ingredient Blocks:
Wet and Dry, and Topping
Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, etc..
Main Recipe Assembly and Garnish
Main Recipe and Paper Products
The recipe in the above image illustrates an example of how the Ingredient Block feature can be used. In this case it separates a bakery recipe into Wet, Dry, and Toppings. The method of preparation for this recipe generally follows the same pattern, in that the cook is expected to work with all the wet ingredients first, then the dry, and finally the topping.
To create Ingredient Block Categories
1. Go to the List Menu
2. Select Ingredient Blocks
3. Enter a List Name (Ingredient Block is sufficient)
4. Place the cursor in the Description Field of line 1 and then type in a block name (e.g. “Wet”)
5. Continue to add block names until the list is as complete as desired.
6. Click OK when the list is complete
To Add Ingredient Blocks to a recipe
1. Select the line where the first Ingredient Block will be inserted, please note that the selected line and anything below it will move downward in the ingredient list.
2. Once the line is selected, either right-click at the line selection indicator ““ or click the Edit Menu.
3. Next, select Add Ingredient Block.
4. The Ingredient Block line will be displayed, now a specific block description must be selected. Click the dropdown selection arrow to access the Ingredient Block List and click the appropriate selection.
5. Repeat the process until all of the desired blocks have been added.
To Delete an Ingredient Block
1. Select the line where the first Ingredient Block will be inserted, please note that the selected line and anything below it will move downward in the ingredient list.
2. Once the line is selected, either right-click at the line selection indicator ““ or click the Edit Menu.
3. Next, select Delete Ingredient Block.
4. The Ingredient Block line will be deleted.
5. Repeat the process until all of the desired blocks have been deleted.
Be sure to save the recipe to save any changes that have been made.
