Inventory Interface Defaults


For those users who hand held devices such as a PDA or scanner to take inventory, this program is the interface between those devices and FoodPro. There are multiple software packages available for scanners and PDA's, we have tested CatScan, but any package that reads and writes comma-delimited files will work as well.

   









  • Inventory information defaults are created and maintained in the Maintain Inventory Defaults program found in the Location System Utilities menu. This program provides the opportunity to select locations that will be importing and exporting inventory data from a hand held device, as well as to define the path where the data files reside on the users PC.

  • Users can select to export data formatted in one of four ways: Comma, Tab, Pipe Delimited, or ODBC Format

  • The program provides selected options for naming conventions of field element names to correspond with the PDA or scanner software being utilized.

  • The PDA Interface can be a true time saver for those using hand held devices to take inventory by UPC code.

  • Multiple UPC codes can be imported for each FoodPro inventory item. The codes are displayed in the Location Inventory Template.

  • Preferences are defined by workstation and written to its registry.
