The FoodPro Software System is based on a client - server relationship. The FoodPro database and system programs reside on a server while the users have workstations that they use to actually use FoodPro.
Aurora Information Systems is responsible for installing and upgrading the database software and system programs on the server. However, in each operation where FoodPro is implemented, users must run the executable setup programs that are provided to them with each upgrade (or new installation).
The executable programs (setup.exe's) that are provided by Aurora Information Systems install a number of things on both the workstation and the server. While each operation implements FoodPro slightly differently they all share a similarity in how installations occur.
In this environment, FoodPro programs reside on the server and users are mapped to the server to use the programs.
In this environment, FoodPro programs reside on the workstation and users are mapped to their c:\aurora folder to use the programs.
Each one installs different programs and support files required to run and use FoodPro.
It is important to note that programs and support files change with every release of FoodPro and that unless the setup.exe's are run for both the server and each workstation (when they are provided for each upgrade) it is unlikely that FoodPro will work properly if at all. Similarly, it is highly discouraged to unpack and repack the setup executable files that are supplied by Aurora Information Systems. Doing so can cause unexpected errors to occur when using FoodPro.
FoodPro users must have the privilege level to read\write\modify the c:\aurora folder on their workstations. Additionally, in the case of network installations, users must be mapped to the designated FoodPro server and be able to interact ( read\write\modify) with the aurora folder on the server.
